remembering your roots

today I received news that I lost my beautiful, amazing aunt. My mother’s family was blessed with seven girls and one boy. the seven, strong women - my aunts - molded myself and my girl cousins. We are all different, which should be celebrated. but, we all have those faddis roots. roots that shape our decisions. roots that we carry with us always.

our family does not all share the same political beliefs. we do not share the same religion. we do not have similar income. but we learned long, long ago what love was. we learned tolerance for those that share our roots, but may not share our other beliefs.

please be kind. spread positive thoughts. even if you do not agree with others, look the other way. lord knows, our family has loved through differences. always have. always will.

will you?
